This is a unique opportunity to join us in our Looked After Children and Permanence team as a Team Manager and be instrumental in leading a motivated team, implementing quality assurance as standard. Being creative will assist you to deliver the best possible services and outcomes for our families.

We’re on a journey to excellence for Coventry’s children, and we’re committed to ensure that children are at the heart of our decision-making and ensuring they receive good outcomes.

We’re clear on where we’re going, where we’ve come from and how every single Social Worker can put Children first. We’ve worked to build a stronger support network – and, with our management structure and inspirational leadership Coventry is a great place to develop your career.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

We are seeking a reflective Team Manager with a proven ability to lead and develop Social Workers.

You will be committed and passionate about practice, sharing learning and knowledge and developing others. You will have a solid understanding of and be an advocate for the principles of diversity and inclusion in relation to workplace culture and service delivery.

You will have excellent knowledge of court care planning, experience of adoption and permanence work and have the drive and tenacity to get Coventry Children’s Service to Ofsted “outstanding”.

The children we work with come from a variety of backgrounds and in order to deliver the best possible care it is vital that we have a workforce that represents and understands their unique experiences and perspectives.

Our workforce data shows that men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are under-represented at Team Manager level and encourage applicants from these backgrounds to apply.  This does not prevent individuals with other protected characteristics as set out within the Equalities Act 2010 from applying for this post.
